Indiana Temperate Bass Tips
When jigging for White Bass over a rocky bottom (like at Norway
Dam) during the spawning run, attach the jig and minnow combination
to a bobber. This way you can jig just off the bottom and still stay
out of the junk.
Try attaching a jig to the back treble of a small crankbait. There is so
much competition in a school of white bass, you can come away with
two fish many times.
Crappie Rigs work very well for white bass.
When jump fishing, keep several poles rigged up for white bass. This
way you spend less time unhooking fish and more time fishing. Once
the fish sound, you will be done in that area.
In deeper water, troll until you locate a school of stripers. Then jig for
the fish with a spoon or bucktail jig tipped with a white grub or
minnow.
A good trolling lure for stripers in deep water is the white coachdog
hellbender.
