Walleye Wackers
Bucktail Jigs for Walleye
Walleye Wackers are bucktail jigs designed for use in catching walleyes.
They will also catch other species of fish, namely silvers, or white bass.
They are the most effective in the early fishing season.  Whether you
are fishing a lake, river, or a spillway, a Walleye Wacker tipped with a
minnow is a deadly combination.

There are several ways to fish these Walleye Wackers with the most
common way tipping them with a minnow and dragging them along the
bottom slowly waiting for the tap of a walleye bite.  Another method is
to hop these jigs back to shore or the boat using small, slow, and
deliberate bounces.  A less common way to fish these jigs is to set
them below a bobber and then slowly jig them from the top down back
to shore or the boat.  The latest way these have been showing great
results have been by fishing them tipped with a minnow under a float
and just sitting on a finger, hump, or rockpile and wait for the walleye
to come in and pick up the bait.  This works really well in lakes during
the early season right after ice out.
