Indiana Salmon Tips
Fishing for salmon in the streams is best in the months of September
and October as the fish make their migratory runs.  Otherwise, the fish
of the Great Lakes will be out in the lake looking for food and the right
temperature.

When fishing in the cold months of winter, warm water discharges are
the go to places for salmon.

If you're out in the lake trolling for salmon, it is always a good idea to
run a cheater or dropper line down the lines you are running on a
downrigger.  The cheater line will continue to drop down your line until
it hits the bow in your line.  This way you can cover another level of
water.

A good bait in the fall is shrimp under a float.  This works great off the
break walls.
