Rapala Lures - RFR

The shallow fat rap came out in 1978, a year after the fat rap came out.
Little did they know then, but they had created a collecting giant. Probably
one of the most sought after lure that Rapala made. It was only made in
sizes 5 and 7, and they have long since gone away. The size 5 is still made
as a re-release, but it does not draw the attention of collectors other than
to fill in these new colors into their collection. Just as the Husky 13 came
out with a re-release, it too isn't drawing the collectors in like the original
colors.
What is more important is where these lures are made. The latest is in
Estonia. Before that is Ireland, and the best one is Finland. Everyone
wants their Shallow Fat Raps to come from Finland. Even at a higher
premium is if the flap that goes on the box is in the color of teal. Some of
the hottest colors at present are the baby bass, hot tiger, and red
crawdad. Blue has always been a hot color, but these other three seem to
be a bit more rare than the rest.
