Don't know a lot about the history of this lure. I picked up my
initial set of these from Europe, and then about 3 years ago there
was another release of some new colors. I picked those up from
Europe as well. The Super Shad Rap came out in 1994, so I would
imagine these came out shortly afterwards. Rapala does show the
Countdown Super Shad Rap in Japan, so I guess it is sold in Japan
as well as in Europe. Not sure why they are not marketed in the
states. The photos below with the red background are prototype
lures. It is my understanding that these have never been put out
on the market as they were test colors.
From what I am seeing online, there isn't any new colors listed, so
this should be a fairly complete list of the colors available, except
for some prototypes that is.
