HERE DRUM DRUM DRUM
Drum (Aplodinotus grunniens), got their name from the grunting
sound that they make.  The flesh of the drum is very good.  They are
also referred to as sheepshead.  There are some commercial fishing for
drum.
A lot of our drum are caught down by Oakdale Dam and to a lesser
degree, Norway Dam.  There are also a lot of drum caught from Lake
Michigan.

The dorsal fin of the freshwater drum usually has 10 spines and 29-32
rays. Freshwater drum are silvery in color and lack the distinctive tail
fin spot of red drum, or more commonly known as redfish.  The
freshwater drum is the only freshwater species of drum.
